This A2L and A3 class vacuum pump is designed for evacuating air conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration systems before charging with refrigerant. It is suitable for automotive air conditioning, domestic air conditioners, fridges, freezers, split AC units and other HVAC applications.

The pump removes air, non-condensable gases and moisture from the system. This helps prevent high operating pressures, poor cooling performance and possible damage to the compressor or other air conditioning components.

A vacuum should be pulled after the system has been opened for repair, component replacement or installation. Always follow the equipment manufacturer’s instructions and use the correct safety procedures for the refrigerant being handled.

Built-in solenoid and vacuum gauge

The pump includes a built-in solenoid valve and vacuum gauge. Once the required vacuum has been reached, switch off the pump while allowing the solenoid to isolate the system from the pump.

Monitor the gauge for a suitable holding period. If the needle moves back towards atmospheric pressure, this may indicate a leak, remaining moisture or another problem that needs further investigation.

The gauge is useful for a basic vacuum-holding check. For more accurate evacuation work, especially on larger HVAC and refrigeration systems, a separate micron gauge and a suitable pressure leak test should also be used.

Important information

A2L and A3 refer to refrigerant safety classifications. Confirm that the pump and all connected hoses, gauges, adaptors and recovery equipment are approved for the refrigerant used in your system. A3 refrigerants such as R290 and R600a, R32, R1234yf are highly flammable and require suitable ventilation, ignition-control measures and equipment approved for flammable refrigerants.

This vacuum pump is intended for evacuation only. It is not a refrigerant recovery machine and must not be used to recover liquid refrigerant. Do not start the pump while liquid refrigerant is present in the system.

Check the oil level before use and replace contaminated oil as required. Do not operate the pump without sufficient vacuum pump oil.
